Chris Wallace’s Debate with President Trump About White Supremacy

In the first Presidential Debate, at one hour into the debate, Chris Wallace made statements about President Trump’s criticism of Antifa, and then asked him if he was willing to denounce white supremacy. Chris Wallace told the President that he would have one minute to speak (instead of two, as both parties and the moderator had agreed to). Here is how that “One minute” during the required two minute talk segment (per the rules) played out:

President Trump spoke 8 seconds.

Chris Wallace debated.

Vice President Biden interrupted.

President Trump spoke 2 seconds.

Chris Wallace debated.

Vice President Biden interrupted.

President Trump spoke 5 seconds.

Vice President Biden laughed.

Chris Wallace debated.

President Trump spoke 10 seconds, with Vice President Joe Biden talking over him for 4 of those seconds.

Chris Wallace told Vice President Biden “Go ahead” after President Trump had only spoken for 25 interrupted seconds of his “One minute” two minute segment.

Vice President Biden spoke for 9 uninterrupted seconds, then 8 seconds, where President Trump spoke over him for 6 of those seconds (still during President Trump’s “One minute” two minute segment–so who was doing the interrupting here?).

President Trump attempted to speak for 7 seconds more while Chris Wallace talked over him and interrupted by saying “Moving On” and then asked another question.

The most uninterrupted time President Trump got to speak during is “One minute” two minute segment was 8 seconds. That is all.
